H.E Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister in charge of special mission and Chair of the National AIDS Authority presided over a meeting of Government Donor Join Technical Working Group on HIV/AIDS (GDJ-TWG on HIV/AIDS)

At the National AIDS Authority head office, in afternoon of April 1, 2015, H.E Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister in charge of special mission and Chair of the National AIDS Authority has led, as the co-chair of the working, a Government Donor Join Technical Working Group on HIV/AIDS (GDJ-TWG on HIV/AIDS).
 
Participated in the meeting there was Ms. Christina Lau, Infectious Disease Team Leader, Office of Public Health and Education, USAID. Co-Chair GDJ-TWG on HIV/AIDS, H.E NAA’s Vice Chairs and top management, H.E Secretary of State and Representative from relevant Government Ministries and institutions and officials of Development Partners (DPs) and Non-governmental Organizations who are cooperation partners for HIV/AIDS control in Cambodia including UNAIDS Country Coordinator.     
 
Agenda of the meeting was:
 
  • Endorsement of minutes of previous Meeting, January 22, 2015 and review of GDJ-TWG performance: (see attached paper 'Technical Working Group Strengthening Exercise')
  • Membership and Improvements for the GDJ-TWG (ToR paper attached with suggested amendments for the improved functioning of the Group)
  • Review and discussion on progress of Joint Monitoring Indicators (JMIs)
  • Examination and discussion on needs and how to coordinate in implementing the NSP IV, what institutional arrangements should be needed for the next 5 years for GDJ-TWG and its sub Working Groups? 4 Options suggested by Mr. Mike Custance, NAA advisor. 
 
After a long discussion meeting, decision were made that document to submit CDC was to be prepared before April 10, 2015, to look at sub TWG in detail after NSP4 has been finalized in coming May and to convene a new meeting in June 2015.  
 

 

Meeting was successfully completed in spirit of good collaboration between Government and DPs in battling HIV/AIDS.
