H.E Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister attended and presided over the 12th Death Anniversary of the late Venerable Mak Chhim, head Monk of Roka Pagoda, Roka Commune, Pearaing District, Prey Veng Province
On February 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., H.E Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister, Chair of the National AIDS Authority, his spouse and Family, and Excellencies NAA Vice Chairs, Advisors, the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary Generals, Directors and Deputy Directors of Departments attended and presided over the 12th Death Anniversary of the late Venerable Mak Chhim, former head monk of Roka Pagoda, Roka Commune, Pearaing District, Prey Veng Province.
To begin, the Pagoda committee welcomed and told the audience about the development achievements of Roka pagoda. Then H.E Senior Minister greeted venerable monks, elderly people and Buddhist followers who participated in the ceremony. He spoke about the pagoda developments and religious achievements headed by the late venerable Mak Chhim. This is the heritage for our pagoda community, and we all acknowledge his huge, lasting accomplishments and will remember him forever.
In his address, H.E Senior Minister also highlighted the religious developments, achievements and revitalisation that have been realized after the abolishment of Buddhism under the Pol Pot regime in whole Cambodia, as well as in Roka Commune, Pearaing District. In over thirty years, our nation has progressed in every sector: the economy, social society, culture, religion, and infrastructure such as roads and bridges. He also reminded community members to continue to contribute and to safeguard this accomplishment for the long term.
At the end, H.E Senior Minister has prayed Venerable Neang Leang, the current head monk of the pagoda, good health, longevity and best wishes and also handed over gifts to elderly participants and the ceremony organizing committee.
