The Workshop on the Dissemination of the CEDAW Principles and the National Response to HIV/AIDS
On December 12, 2014, at the Office of the Council of Ministers, H. E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of NAA presided over the workshop on the Dissemination of the CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women) Principles and the Response to HIV/AIDS.
Also particpating were the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women Affairs and member of the National Council for Women, representatives of UNWOMEN, Excellencies, Lokchumteav, ladies and gentlemen Vice-Chairs of the NAA, speakers in the seminar, focal point persons, as well as officials and staff from government institutions and relevant NGOs, in total around 150 people.
In his opening speech, H. E. Senior Minister praised cooperation in absorbing and injecting gender equity to the response in the fight against AIDS in 2014. H. E. Senior Minister informed all participants about the strong support in both policy and resource from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia to effectively implement the CEDAW.
H. E. Senior Minister recommended that the participants exchange views to gain updated information which can be used in developing the National Strategy Phase 4 in early 2015.
Finally, H. E. Senior Minister wished all participants the best and declared the seminar open.
