NAA Meeting of December 2014

On December 3, 2014, at the National AIDS Authority (NAA) head office in Phnom Penh, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of H. E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of the NAA. The participants in the meeting were Vice-Chairs, advisers, the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary Generals and Department Directors, officials and staff of the NAA and H. E. Dr. Mean Chhi Vun, representative of H. E. Mam Bunheng, First Vice-Chair of NAA.

The meeting agenda was as follows:

  1. Progress report by General Secretariat
  2. Report and evaluation on the organization of World AIDS Day
  3. Report on the implementation of Global Fund Projects
  4. Other business.

H. E. Senior Minister expressed his appreciation to all NAA management team and officials for their efforts which have been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS. He also encouraged the top management team and all officials and staff to work harder in order to improve any performance errors in the past.

H. E. Chairman also made his recommendation on points relating to producing the documentary on HIV/AIDS and condom use in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, TV channels and condom companies.

Before concluding the meeting, H. E. Chairman raised his 7-point recommendations as follows:

  1. Congratulate the achievements that have been made with the participation of officials at all levels.
  2. Encourage all officials to further strengthen solidarity, unity, respect working disciplines in connection with hierarchy and the working time.
  3. Further work on what we are doing and perform it in an effective and efficient manner.
  4. Explore the guidelines on using mission allowances in accordance with the rules and regulations put forward by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Global Fund.
  5. Give advice to all officials on the correct use of electricity and AC to save money.
  6. Renovate the building in order to make it an AIDS Information Center.
  7. Emphasis HIV education among youth and workers to prevent a second wave of the epidemic.
