His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly leads a National AIDS Authority leadership delegation to visit children at the Salvation Center Cambodia
Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority, led a National AIDS Authority leadership delegation to pay a visit to children living with HIV and orphaned children, whose parents have died from AIDS, currently under care of the Child Care Center of the Salvation Center Cambodia (SCC) in the afternoon of March 3, 2016. The SCC executive director briefed the head of the delegation of the background and activities of the organization in response to and prevention of HIV transmission in the community since 1999, when Cambodia was severely ravaged by AIDS. The SCC had taken part in providing support and assistance to the communities in raising and caring for 250 vulnerable children, including 97 living with HIV. The Senior Minister sincerely commended the founding director, the director, and all the officials of the center for their initiative to participate, with the Royal Government and community, in response to AIDS and prevention of HIV transmission at the community level by means of offering direct and indirect support to the community members, families living with HIV, and the vulnerable children in the past. He also requested that the center continue efforts to further help the families of those living children. On that occasion, the Senior Minister offered some funds to help the center and presented cash donations and National AIDS Authority T shirts to the nephews, nieces, and center as mementos.
