On September 4, 2014, H. E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chairman of the National AIDS Authority in his capacity as the Chairman of the Country Coordinating Committee (CCC), an institution coordinating and facilitating the implementation of assistance from the Global Fund in Cambodia on AIDS, TB and Malaria, presided over an Opening Ceremony of a Consultative Malaria Meeting—Country Dialogue 2014 at Phnom Penh Hotel.

 

After welcoming and expressing his thankfulness to all participants, H. E. Senior Minister highlighted that the two-day meeting is held to discuss on malaria in which will lay the platform for the country dialogue in 2014 in order to identify prioritization of activities for the Concept Note. Six group works will be assigned to discuss on the draft Concept Note.

 

As the TB Concept Note has been approved, it will be easier for malaria to look on TB experiences. So, the submission of a full Concept Note to the Global Fund by October 15, 2014 can be achieved, H. E. Senior Minister elaborated.

 

Finally, H. E. Senior Minister recommended all participants from Ministries of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Sub-national institutions, Communities, Key Affected Populations and Stakeholders provide crucial inputs in order to contribute in the fight against malaria that could develop a suitable Malaria Concept Note to secure continued funding from the Global Fund in the fight against malaria for the next three years.

 

H.E. Senior Minister wished all participants of the meeting and declared the Opening of Consultative Malaria Meeting—Country Dialogues 2014.
