H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chairman of the NAA, Represents the Royal Government of Cambodia at the Reception to Celebrate the Canada Day
On June 27, 2014, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Represented the Royal Government of Cambodia in the Canada Day at Raffle Le Royal Hotel, Phnom Penh with the participation of senior officials in the Royal Government, Ambassadors and diplomats to Cambodia, Canadian citizens in Cambodia and friends of Canada.
After welcoming and expressing his thankfulness to all the guests, H.E. Philip Calvert, Ambassador of Canada to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok delivered his speech by mentioning on friendship between Canada and Cambodia especially the active role that Canada played as a member of the International Control and Supervision Commission in 1953, and in the Paris Peace Accord in 1991 which ended decades of conflict in Cambodia. Canada has become one of Cambodia’s top 3 export destinations. In 2013, Canada imported close to $700million from Cambodia, a more than 3000% increase from the 2002 figure of $21 million. To conclude his speech, H. E. Ambassador proposed a toast to that auspicious occasion.
Then, H. E. Senior Minister asked all participants to join him in a toast on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia to celebrate the Canada day.
H.E. Senior Minister wished Queen Elizabeth II of Canada, H.E. David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, Her Majesty Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, good heath and people of Canada happiness and prosperity.
To conclude his speech, H.E. Senior Minister praised the friendship and good cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Canada.
