H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of NAA Presides over the 65th Country Coordination Committee Meeting of the Global Fund

On April 8, 2014, H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister, Chairman of NAA and Chairman of CCC presided over the 65th CCC meeting of the Global Fund.

 
The participants in that meeting composed of Excellencies, Lokchumteav Secretary of State and Under-Secretary of State representatives of involved Ministries of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Representatives of the United Nations—WHO, UNAIDS, UNOPS, etc., Development partners—representatives of the French, German and USA Embassies, Civil Society—Non-Governmental Organizations involved in the fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria, Representatives of the key affected people, Representatives of the religious communities, and the private sector—Chamber of Commerce and private higher educational institutions.
 
The meeting elected Dr. Dong-Il AHN, representative of the World Health Organization as Vice-Chairman of the CCC. Then, the meeting studied the New Funding Model of the Global Fund updated for Cambodia which has been agreed upon the amount of $148.8 million for 3 years—2014 to 2017. The above-mentioned budget would be allocated for HIV $75.3 million, TB $15.6 million, malaria $49.3 million and HSS $8.5 million for the next 3 years.
 
Furthermore, the meeting endorsed new members, representatives of the malaria victims that have just appointed.
 
The meeting also listened to the report of the Oversight Committee on the 2014 performance and field trip activities.
 
To conclude the meeting, H.E. Senior Minister expressed his thankfulness to the Global Fund that continues to assist Cambodia in the fight against AIDS, TB, malaria and public health capacity building.
