H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of NAA Presides over the NAA Top Management Monthly Meeting
On March 28, 2014, H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of NAA presided over the NAA Top Management Monthly Meeting.
The participants in that meeting composed of Excellencies and Lokchumteav Vice-Chairpersons, Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, Director of Departments of NAA and representatives of the Minister of Health who are the First Vice-Chairman of NAA.
The agenda of the meeting were as follows:
1. Monthly Progress Report of the General Secretariat
2. Global Fund project implementation
3. NAA’s officials capacity building
4. Preparation for Comprehensive project budget of public health, institutional budget of NAA
5. Other business.
After delivering his opening remarks, H.E. Chairman asked H.E. Teng Kunthy, Secretary General, to start with the item No. 1 of the agenda, H.E. Tia Phalla, Vice-Chairman to follow with item No. 2&3 and Mr. Khim Khindaret to talk about item No. 4. After asking for clarifications from responsible officials on some slow pace in job performance, H.E. Chairman encourage them to speed up their performance accordingly. Concerning with the agenda No. 4, H.E. Chairman asked for comments from the representatives of the Minister of Health.
On item No. 5 of the agenda, H.E. Senior Minister emphasized on how we should do research and the method in keeping track on the identity of AIDS patients as follows:
§ A research on an HIV-positive woman in Preah Vihear to find out how many people infected after having sex with her and to persuade those who have been suspicious of having sexual relationship with her to have blood test is very important. We do not know that how many people who have become AIDS victims from the above-mentioned case.
§ A method in keeping track on the identity of AIDS patients such as thumbprint is also important. From experiences, HIV-positive people frequently change name after they move from one place to the other.
Then, H.E. Chairman asked General Secretariat and other responsible persons to carefully plan for the upcoming New Year celebration and to consider about the possibility of attending in the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia in July this year.
H.E. Chairman expressed his thankfulness and praised responsible departments for its hard-work in making GARPR 2014 possible before sending to United Nations during the last few weeks.
The meeting was ended at 11 a.m. in a friendship and a responsible manners.
