H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of the National AIDS Authority presided over the Opening Ceremony of a Seminar on Reviewing Cambodia’s Global AIDS Response Progress Report 2014
On March 21, 2014, at the Cambodiana Hotel, H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister and Chairman of the National AIDS Authority presided over a Seminar organized by NAA to review Cambodia’s Global AIDS Response Progress Report 2014 to be sent to the United Nations.
The seminar was aimed togive the opportunity for stakeholders and development partners worked with AIDS to exchange ideas on the progress in fighting against HIV/AIDS epidemic in Cambodia and to adopt Cambodia’s Global AIDS Response Progress Report 2014.
NAA will form 5 National Strategic Plan Working Groups to implement the Seven-point policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia as follows: 1) group 1 responsible for prevention, treatment, and continuous care, 2) group 2 responsible for creating supportive environment, human rights and policy, 3) group 3 responsible for reducing the impact of HIV/AIDS, 4) group 4 responsible for leadership, relations and development synergy and 5) group 5 responsible for monitoring and evaluation, H.E. Chairman mentioned.
H.E. Senior Minister recommended that the gathering discuss and provide input to avoid AIDS tragedy which at least killed six people and infected three other people in Cambodia each day.
