On the evening of Monday, October 7th, 2024, H.E Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority, led an inter-ministerial delegation to meet with key people who is high risk of HIV infectionat "House of Village Mother" in Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province. Participating in this program were Lok Chumteav, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey, H.E Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Deputy Governor of Poipet City, Deputy Director of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Health Department, Executive Director of HACC,Representatives of RHAC on Northern HIV/AIDS Prevention Project, and leaders of the National AIDS Authority.
After the welcome, the Senior Minister asked the visitors about the health issues, how to prevent HIV infection and how to get HIV prevention services. At the same time, the Senior Minister stressed that the best way to prevent HIV infection is to prevent by using condoms. But if you suspect you may have HIV, you need to get tested immediately. If you have a positive test result, you will receive free treatment.
In addition, the Senior Minister instructed the house of village mother chiefs and key people who came to stay together to form an association to help find and encourage HIV suspects to go for HIV test, for preventive education and have representatives participating in the AIDS Committee at all levels.
Finally, the Senior Minister emphasized that once the key people have joined the HIV/AIDS system, it will be easier for us to discuss, find problems and find solutions.
