Meeting to Review the National Policy to End HIV/AIDS by 2025 and the Sustainability of the HIV/AIDS program 2023-2028

H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority (NAA), chaired a leadership meeting with the participation of  Vice-Chairs, Advisors, and the Secretary-General, on the morning of September 22, 2023, at 9 A.M.

H.E. Tia Phalla reported to the Senior Minister, before the start of the meeting, on the readiness to attend the meeting in Geneva, Switzerland in December of 2023, ASEAN's Statement on HIV/AIDS, and to introduce the international role of Cambodia as a member of the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress and strategy of the National Policy to End HIV/AIDS and the Sustainability of the HIV/AIDS program to strengthen capacity and empowerment towards achieving the goal of ending HIV/AIDS. This is after having received the latest insights from the wide-ranging discussions in the Stakeholder’s Forum on policy-making that had participation of representatives from ministries, departments, and national and international NGOs, as well as all stakeholders.

After exchanging views, Senior Minister Ieng Mouly recommended that the Technical Working Group re-evaluate the draft policy, separating policy statements from strategic or actionable plans. H.E. Ieng Mouly also advised for the clear division of tasks according to each policy, where each leader is responsible.
