
H.E. Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority (NAA) and Chair of the Government Working Group for Borsedth District of Kampong Speu Province, presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inauguration of the N36 concrete bridge at Mral Tnaoth Village on June 25, 2023.
H.E. Heng Sok Kong, First Vice Chair of the Government Working Group for Borsedth was also in attendance, along with other leaders from the NAA, the Government Working Group for Borsedth and officials from relevant departments of the Royal Government. There were also 200 people from Poh Mreal Commune and 100 people from Pheary Meanchey Commune in attendance.
Senior Minister Ieng Mouly greeted and explained that when he first met the people of Poh Mer, they had asked him for many years to help provide them with a bridge to cross the N36 canal. H.E. Ieng Mouly facilitated and answered the people's request by asking and putting forth into action for the Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology to build the bridge.
The Director of the Department of Water Resources and Meteorology of Kampong Speu Province, through the directive and facilitation of H.E. Ieng Mouly, deployed specialized officers and heavy machinery to start the construction work on January 20 and finished the construction on April 20, 2023, through the Royal Government's financial support.
Furthermore, the construction process of the bridge drainage, the rehabilitation and improvement of primary and secondary canals in the dam were started by pouring concrete foundations, building bridges across the canal, rehabilitating the canal by holding water for use in the dry season, and pouring soil on the back of the canal on both sides for a comfortable width of 6 meters.
The accomplished results were as follows:
1) Concrete bridge with drainage system
2) Improvement of 2 canals with a length of 800 meters
3) Rehabilitation of a canal totaling 3,500 meters with plans to construct 2 more canal gates.
Addiotnally, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly also sponsored 1,100,000 Riels for the program.
