The National AIDS Authority (NAA) held the Management Leadership Team Meeting, with the participation of senior NAA members, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 9 A.M., under the chairmanship of His Excellency Ieng Mouly, Chair of the NAA.
The meeting had the agenda as follows:
- Welcome remarks by H.E. Ieng Mouly, Chair of the NAA
- Review the agenda on the 4th Technical Working Group Meeting on Cambodia's 2023 HIV estimates
- Summary of results and remarks by H.E. Ieng Mouly
The results and remarks were as follows:
- H.E., Dr. Chhim Khindareth, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Technical Council of the NAA, speaking on the topic of assessing Cambodia's HIV/AIDS response for 2023 through promoting HIV testing and preventive works
- H.E. Kong Rotha, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the NAA, speaking on strengthening the roles and responsibilities of the management, and about reports having clear premises
- H.E. Sim Kimsan speaking on the 100% use of condoms to achieve the first 95% target, and request for the establishment of a working group for work in the respective provinces
- H.E. Chea Por on the policy board reforming the agenda and simplifying the language, with reduction of technical terms and acronyms, for better understanding
- Recommendations to promote HIV testing and prevention works, with an emphasis on the 95% targets
- The technical council should discuss preventative measures, educational messages regarding the use of PrEP, condom use, and others for the people at risk in meetings
- H.E. Chea Por shall organize a gathering with artists
- The Secretary-General shall hold a plenary session in June
- Senior Minister Ieng Mouly instructed the management of the NAA to draft a comprehensive prevention policy to be completed by next week
