H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chairman of the Working Group, visited Borsedth District in Kampong Speu Province with the heads of provincial departments (Water Resources Department, Department of Cadastral Affairs, Department of Mines and Energy, Department of Agriculture, Lawyer of Borsedth District Governor, Inspectors, Chief of Svay Rumpear Commune, and Village Chiefs).

On Saturday, December 17, 2022, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chairman of the Working Group, visited Borsedth District in Kampong Speu Province with the heads of provincial departments (Water Resources  Department, Department of Cadastral Affairs, Department of Mines and Energy, Department of Agriculture, Lawyer of Borsedth District Governor, Inspectors, Chief of Svay Rumpear Commune, and Village Chiefs).

The visit to some locations in the Svay Rumpear commune was to find out about disputes that have not yet been resolved. The visited locations include the O'Kkei dam, the community forest, Sleng village canal, Trapeang Sva village, and Kreul village.

Senior Minister Ieng Mouly stated that the purpose of the visit was to get a firsthand assessment and collect thorough data. Discussions with the heads provincial department will then be held to find solutions, and in the end, practical measures will be taken to inform the public.

Regarding the O’Kkie dam, authorities have demarcated the dam area and managed the drainage for the people to continue to use the water.

Regarding the Trapeang Sva dispute, the delegation recognized that it belongs to the community, the people can use the pond water.

On the community forest issue, the delegation advised the stonemasonry company to temporarily suspend activities until the dust pollution stops to resume activities again.

The Department of Agriculture and Cadastral Affairs was also instructed to make a clear map of the community and make it available to the general public.

Regarding the Sleng village canal, Senior Minister remarked that the canal width should be maintained at 20 meters and authorities should be able to mediate the disputes moving forward.
