Senior Minister His Excellency Ieng Mouly Meets With Members of National AIDS Authority’s Technical Advisory Board
Senior Minister His Excellency Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority (NAA), held a meeting with the NAA Technical Advisory Board members at the authority’s headquarters on the morning of October 3.
The Technical Advisory Board (TAB) is the technical consultative forum of the National AIDS Authority, with its members as representatives of the Royal Government’s institutions and units, group of people living with HIV and HIV/AIDS victims.
The functions of the NAA Technical Advisory Board consist of:
-Providing technical contribution;
-Formulating the National HIV/AIDS Policy for the NAA;
-Preparing strategies for implementing the National AIDS Policy for the NAA;
-Mapping out the HIV/AIDS action plan;
-Advising on the implementation of the HIV/AIDS policy as well as of the strategic and action plans to respond effectively to the requirement of the HIV/AIDS situation, and
-Performing other diverse tasks assigned by the NAA to respond to the fight against and reduce the spread of HIV as well as participate in heightening the provision of care treatment to the compatriot citizens victimized by HIV, enabling them to receive continued effective treatment to cut down viral load and prevent drug resistance that cause them to remain in need of treatment for their whole life.
In his capacity as the Chair of the multi-sector coordinating National AIDS Authority, His Excellency the Senior Minister lauded the NAA TAB members for their technical inputs and joining implementation efforts of the policy, strategic and action plans in their respective sectors. It is because the fight against AIDS needs the holistic participation and responsibility of all interested individuals, families, communities, institutions, and sectors.
He thanked Secretary General His Excellency Teng Kunthy for his determinations and appreciated his leadership facilitating the TAB in the position of Secretary General and TAB Head until his retirement. He also encouraged His Excellency Chhim Khin Dareth, the new appointed secretary general, to lead and coordinate the Technical Council, with good approaches and new methodologies, as the technical staff of the National AIDS Authority.
