Senior Minister His Excellency Ieng Mouly, Head of National Working Group Assisting Basedth District, Chairs Public Forum To Review and Support Implementation of Rectangular Political Platform and Strategy Phase IV in Kampong Speu Province’s Basedth District
Senior Minister His Excellency Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and the National Working Group Assisting Basedth District presided over a public forum to review and support the implementation of the Royal Government’s Rectangular Political Platform and Strategy Phase IV held at Wat Chas Pagoda in Basedth District on the morning of Thursday, September 12, 2019. The event was attended by 450 people from three communes: Basedth, Preah Khe, and Phong.
On that occasion, after listening to a report on the general situation in the district delivered by Basedth District Governor Mr. Chhin Sothun, His Excellency the Senior Minister said that under the wisest and smartest leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Cambodia has fully enjoyed peace and development in all domains, including infrastructures, hospitals, schools, markets, bridges, and highways all over the country, unprecedented in the last century.
Domestic and foreign investments have been opened up and promoted with a view to providing jobs to the people. Especially male and female young workers throughout the country have received pay raise every year. Particularly, in Basedth District, some 31,000 workers have acquired a huge total income of about US$74.4 million per year, contributing to development and further improvement of the Basedth district locals’ livelihood with every passing year.
Moreover, the Royal Government, under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, has also increased salaries, for the civil servants, military, and police on a yearly basis, the minimum of which is now 1 million riels. The social protection system has been established to reduce living expenses through providing the national social security card for public servants, retired officials, war veterans, and workers to access free medical treatment services and poor mothers-to-be to obtain cash subsidy.
After listening to the remarks by the participants in the forum on problems relating to soil-transporting trucks, ditches, electricity, issuance of diverse documents, His Excellency the Senior Minister invited the district governor, representatives of concerned offices to offer clarifications and resolve them under their jurisdiction. As for major issues impossible to address at the district level, he would make requests to relevant provincial levels as well as ministries and institutions concerned.
At the end, His Excellency the Senior Minister advised relevant public servants in Basedth District to pay attention to performing the task of providing better public services to the people, avoiding at all costs inactivity in line with the Royal Government’s approaches, “gaze into the mirror, take bath, scrub body, get treatment, and undergo operation.” He also called on the people to take part in maintaining peace and national development and to desist from believing incitements by prejudiced people that would lead the country to chaos and war anew.
