H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly and CFO of APLMA Discussed on Roadmap to Eliminate Malaria by 2030

At the National AIDS Authority’s headquarters in the afternoon of June 6, 2019, H.E. Senior Minister, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and Board Member of the Global Fund for Western Pacific Region Constituency met with Mr. Jeffery Smith, Chief Operating Officer of the Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA). The meeting was held to discuss on the Roadmap toEliminate Malaria by 2030 which set forth by Senior Official Meeting held in Bangkok in April 2019.
Mr. Jeffery Smith told the Senior Minister that APLMA is an alliance with whole Government Approach for Health that can work on cross-border issues by engaging with civil society and hold Senior Official Meeting with listed 22 countries including Western Pacific Region, Southeast Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also highlighted on APLMA activities in Mekong Sub-region and express his willingness to invite the Senior Minister to participate in the Annual Senior Official Meeting to be held in Hanoi in April 2020. APLMA strongly expect that H.E. Senior Minister will contribute to the Regional Senior Official meeting and extend his experiences in facilitating Global Fund program cooperation and the control of the three diseases.
In his response, H.E. Senior Minister warmly welcomed APLMA for the invitation and told Mr Smith on how the WPR Constituency is working to strengthen the regional grouping by setting up an Advisory Team and maintain face to face meeting annually. The Senior Minister also said about the Policy Board Meeting of the National AIDS Authority which has just held in Kep province to discuss on sustaining and supporting the innovative ways to fight HIV/AIDS.
