
Senior Minister His Excellency Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority, led the authority’s monthly meeting of April 2019 at the National AIDS Authority Headquarters on the morning of Thursday, May 2, 2019, to update the work performed in April and map out action plan for the coming month.
Present at the meeting were Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, ladies, and gentlemen, the vice chairmen, advisers, secretary general, deputy secretary general, and all the departmental heads and deputy heads and all staff of the National AIDS Authority.
After listening to report presented by the national authority’s secretary general, His Excellency Teng Kunthy, and report on the progress in formulating the 5th National Strategic Plan for Fighting Aids made by the vice chair, His Excellency Tia Phalla, His Excellency the Senior Minister reminded all the leading managers to exert efforts in order to integrate multisectoral policy and technical coordination into meetings or diverse coordinating mechanisms of the national authority, such as its plenary sessions and technical advisory board meetings. Moreover, if need be, we should organize inter-ministerial coordinating meetings with relevant institutions in line with the Royal Government’s sub-decree, organize coordinating mechanisms, determine detailed interventions, devise action plans, and carry out activities to prevent and respond to HIV transmission at all national or subnational administration levels to ensure the existence of national sustainable current to respond to HIV, in conformity with Samdech Decho Prime Minister’s guidance.
Moreover, His Excellency the Senior Minister and Chair also recalled the success attainted by the National AIDS Authority delegation that he led at the presentation, to the international community and United Nations in Geneva, of the Kingdom of Cambodia’s successful experiences that we have achieved based importantly on:
- High and firm support as well as direct political leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei, the head of the Royal Government.
- Multisectoral and comprehensive anti-AIDS structures.
- Comprehensive partnership with all relevant sectors, stakeholders, the United Nations, bilateral cooperation agencies, nongovernmental organizations, development partners, and people living with HIV.
- Even though our national resources are limited, our Kingdom of Cambodia has invested, using national budget for building sustainability to combat HIV spread and respond to AIDS.
