Senior Minister Ieng Mouly Visits Preah M’lup and Prey Kanhchan Villages, Pheary Meanchey Commune, Basedth District, Kampong Speu Province
Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and Head of the Central Working Group assisting Basedth District, held a get-together with the heads of 73 and 74 party families respectively in Preah M’lup and Prey Kanhchan villages on the morning of May 20, 2018.
In attendance at the gathering were the managers of the National AIDS Authority and of the Central Working Group assisting Basedth District and Pheary Meanchey commune, the village party branch heads, and the two villages ‘citizens.
The Senior Minister said that now, we enjoy peace and development thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen. And if the Cambodian People's Party continues to hold on to power, we will ensure development and that the citizens’ and workers’ livelihood will be better off. If salaries are talked about, our country is ranked fifth in ASEAN. Under Samdech Techo’s leadership, our citizens have works to do and their salaries have risen and will continue to rise every year. From 2018 to 2023, worker wages will be increased to at least one million riels.
Our present-day country has adopted multiparty liberal democracy. Therefore, public servants, village chiefs, and commune chiefs are not the people’s masters, but their servants. In addition, we have also managed to ensure that the election has been held regularly once every five years since 1993. If loving and wanting to maintain multiparty liberal democracy, all of us should go to the polls on the upcoming July 29. This election has a particular characteristic due to the clan of rebels mobilizing the citizens into abstaining from voting. The Kingdom of Cambodia’s law does not penalize eligible voters who fail to take part in elections. Nevertheless, due to the rebels mobilizing the citizens into desisting from voting, you must therefore deeply fathom out the vote abstention. If we did not go to vote, our fingers would not be marked with black ink. So we would be suspected of believe in the propaganda spread by the group of rebels and their supporters.
Moreover, the brothers and sisters supporting the other political parties should ponder joining the Cambodian People's Party. The national reconciliation policy adopted by our Cambodian People's Party has brought about peace and development. Since we have already preserved peace for 20 years, we must therefore go in force to vote for the Cambodian People's Party on the upcoming July 29 to enable Samdech Techo to continue to lead and endow the country with peace and development.
