According to the voting results announced by the chair of the Western Pacific Region (WPR) Constituency at a meeting in Siem Reap Province, His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly has been elected as Member of the Global Fund Board for WPR Constituency.
His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, as Chair of the Coordinating Committee of the Global Fund for Cambodia, stood as a candidate in the election to select the members of the Global Fund Board.
The delegates of Western Pacific Region Constituency including: 1. Cambodia, 2. Cook Islands, 3. Federated States of Micronesia, 4. Fiji, 5. Kiribati, 6. Laos, 7. Malaysia, 8. Nauru, 9. Papua New Guinea, 10. Philippines, 11. Samoa, 12. Singapore, 13. Solomon Islands, 14. Vanuatu and 15. Viet Nam, cast secret ballots to select the members to sit in the Global Fund Board.
The successful result of His Excellency the Senior Minister’s election demonstrates the Kingdom of Cambodia’s positive efforts in cooperation with the Asia-Pacific countries and its leadership in coordinating with the Global Fund in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in the past.
It should be pointed out that the Global Fund Board consists of 20 voting members: 10 representing donors group and other 10 elected by Implementers Group worldwide.
