
His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and Chair of the Coordinating Committee of the Global Fund for Cambodia, led a working discussion with a delegation of the Global Fund headquarter Geneva led by Mr. Mark Edington, head of the Global Fund Grant Management, at the National AIDS Authority headquarters on the morning of April 10, 2018.
This meeting was intended to inform the new members of the coordinating committee and national program of the Global Fund process and exchange views with the Global Fund team.
It should be recalled that the Kingdom of Cambodia, represented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has signed an agreement to accept the Global Fund’s grant project for combating AIDS and tuberculosis for three years, from 2018 to 2020. This grant project, worth $55 million, was launched on 9 April 2018 by His Excellency Senior Minister of Economy and Finance, and Mr. Mark Edington.
The Royal Government of Cambodia plans to contribute about $12 million in three years for the project to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in the Kingdom of Cambodia, on top of the overall project to spend $98 million fund provided by the Global Fund included project grant of $43 million allocated to fight malaria in both national program and in program within The Greater Mekong Sub-region which focus on resistance to malaria drugs.
