On the afternoon of January 9, 2018 at the National AIDS Authority headquarters, His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and of the Global Fund Country Coordinating Committee, led a meeting of the Executive Committee to discuss the progress of the coordination in the preparation of requirements and conditions for kicking off the implementation of the program to combat HIV/AIDS for 2018-2020.
It should be recalled that the Kingdom of Cambodia’s program project to fight AIDS over the next three years has received US$41 million in financial assistance from the Global Fund.
The implementation of the program grant has been launched since the beginning of 2018, with the National Center for AIDS, Dermatology, and STD of the Ministry of Health as national program Implementer (National Implementation Team, LIT) team for the provision of care and treatment, with other concerned entities and sectors’ participation in contributing to providing interventions and diverse necessary prevention, social protection and support services.
The meeting recommended that the institutions and entities implementing the AIDS-fighting program continue to enable organizations, community representatives, and community of people living with AIDS to carry out their activities in further helping to provide services to HIV patients in their networks.
