His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly Leads Public Forum To Resolve Concerns and Challenges Facing Local Citizens in Po Ang-krang Commune, Basedth District, Kampong Speu Province
His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and Head the Royal Government’s national working group assisting Basedth District, led a public forum, attended by approximately 700 citizens, at Krang Kong Pisei Pagoda in Trepeang Kak village, Po Ang-krang commune, Basedth District, Kampong Speu Province, on 13 February 2018 to resolve concerns and challenges facing the local citizens.
Addressing the citizens and students at the forum, His Excellency Senior Minister said that in the world, there are only about 10 countries, including our Cambodia, enjoying an economic growth higher than 7%. Therefore, our citizens have benefitted from this economic growth, thereby having a decent livelihood and infrastructure, such as tarred roads, electricity, and clean water, at hand for use.
He added that 12 Cambodian signatories, including him, had signed the Paris Accords. Before achieving the Paris Accords, which has already terminated, we held a considerable number of talks. According to the accords, we had UNTAC [UN Transitional Authority in Cambodia], elections, and Constitution, and we have established the constitutional monarchy. If there were dissatisfaction, complaints could be filed with the Constitutional Council.
His Excellency the Senior Minister also said that the National Rescue Party has already been dissolved. It is its end. Do not hope that it would come to life again. The reason the party has been dissolved is that the party leader received orders from foreign countries to carry out politics, aiming at toppling the legitimate government in Cambodia. Now, they call on people to stop buying goods from Cambodia. This is act of treason. Moreover, they have joined hands in setting up the National Rescue Movement, which is a rebel movement and an act of treason. In Cambodia, there is no political crisis, but politicians in crisis due to their clan striving to incite local people to abhor the Royal Government, with the aim of staging color revolution.
Now, the Royal Government is endeavoring to raise salaries for workers and public servants and is considering social security scheme by setting up the National Social Security Fund. Therefore, whenever workers are sick or have accidents, there will be fund for their treatment and in their support. Moreover, when they get old, they will receive pension as public servants.
In conclusion, His Excellency the Senior Minister reminded the citizens to have faith in the leadership of the Royal Government, with Samdech Decho Hun Sen as leader. We have peace and development, and the Cambodian citizens will benefit from stability and economic growth.
