
His Excellency Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority and of the Coordinating Committee of the Global Fund for Cambodia of the 2018-2019 mandate, presided over the committee’s first meeting at the National AIDS Authority Headquarters on the afternoon of 25 January 2018.
The gathering of the Coordinating Committee of the Global Fund for Cambodia was a joint meeting of representatives from ministries, government institutions, development partners, embassies of donor countries financing the Global Fund’s project of combating AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria as well as of strengthening Cambodia’s health system and consolidating representatives of people infected with or affected by AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
The good governance principle of the program project of finance provision by the Global Fund focuses on country ownership, participatory governance, transparency, accountability, and attained results or achievements.
The Geneva-based Global Fund’s Fund Portfolio Management Team headed by Cui Qi, Global Fund Portfolio Manager for Cambodia, too, attended this meeting. It discussed and updated the progress in coordinating the implementation of the Global Fund’s program project of fighting AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria for the three-year period from 2018 to 2020, using approximately US$98 million in funding.
