H.E. Senior Minister Chhay Than and H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly visited people affected by HIV in Roka Commune, Battambang
At Roka Pagoda, Sangke District, Battambang Province, on the morning of December 5, 2017, H.E. Senior Minister Chhay Than, Minister of Planning and H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority made a visit to people living with and affected by HIV in Roka, Battambang to understand about their health care and living situation.
H.E. Senior Ministers, Minister of Planning and Chair of the National AIDS Authority have brought and shared messages from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Samdech Kitti Pritbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross about their sympathy, love and care to all affected people by HIV in Roka and they have instructed concerning Ministries, Provincial, District and commune administration to pay attention on the treatment and care and improving livelihood of people as well. That why a Hospital was set up to taking care of people health in place. Smooth road built connected Roka commune to National road 5 to assist local people to travel easily inside and across commune.
The Ministry of Planning and the National AIDS Authority jointly led identification works to determine poor households and issued ID Poor for the vulnerable households so that HIV affected poor people could get better access to treatment, care and other social supports.
H.E. Minister of Planning and Chair of the National AIDS Authority encouraged people living with HIV there to obey strictly advices of doctors and taking ARV drugs correctly without interruption to avoid resistance that will lead to treatment failure develop AIDS and die of it.
Finally both H.E. Senior Ministers presented them some souvenir and then visit patients in the referral hospital Roka.
