On the morning of November 13, 29017 at the National AIDS Authority, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly Chair of the National AIDS Authority presided over a consultative workshop on contribution of sub-national administration against HIV/AIDS in communes/Sangkats.
There were Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, Ladies and Gentlemen who are from health sector, non- health sector, representatives of key affected population and development partners (DP).
The aim of the workshop was to consult on facilitating mechanism roles, responsibilities resources required by Communes and Sangkats enabling them to take control HIV/AIDS in their respective community and going to forward to eliminate HIV transmission by 2025.
Based AIDS Spending Assessment done in 2015, for more than two decades, Cambodia spent about 800 million USD in which most part were donation from development partner (DP) especially Global Fund while the Royal Government of Cambodia took burden of 46 million US dollars which was approximately 17% of those spending.
It should be reminded that Cambodia set goal of reaching 95-95-95 by 2025. Currently Cambodia is among seven countries globally that have achieved 90-90-90 target: 90 percent of those HIV infected people get tested, 90 percent of those tested are on treatment and 90 percent of treated HIV patients have undetectable viral load.
