At Himawari Hotel, on the morning of August 23, 2017, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority presided over opening ceremony of a consultative workshop on sustainable HIV/AIDS response in Cambodia.

The Aim of workshop was to share experiences and lessons learned on coordination, leadership and implementation in responding to HIV/AIDS with sustainability that support and contribute to efforts made by the Royal Government of Cambodia in achieving elimination of HIV transmission by 2025, five years earlier than the global plan.
It should be reminded that the Royal Government of Cambodia with the National AIDS Authority (NAA) as its institutional aide has been working with relevant Ministries and Institutions and accomplished some major outputs
·Allocated national budget of 8.2 million USD equal to 18.5% of AIDS expenditure in 2015 while budget for 2017 and 2018 will be committed to 11 million UD and 12 Million USD respectively and the RGC to pledge a funding up to 11 M USD in 2017 and 12 M USD in 2018.
·Identified poor households living with HIV and issued ID poor for them, in 8 Provinces in 2016, so that they would better access treatment and care. Process is ongoing and expanding.
·Developing standard operation procedure (SOP) to incorporate HIV/AIDS response into Commune and Sangkat’s Investment plan.
