
At Hotel Naga World, on the morning of July 19, 2017, H.E. Ieng Mouly, Senior Minister in charge of special mission and in the name of chair of Global Fund Country Coordinating committee (CCC) presided over in opening ceremony of workshop finalizing managing structure receiving and implementing program grants combating HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis.
After spending time facilitating, consulting and negotiating with the Global Fund and relevant institutions in many stages, H.E. Senior Minister headed a final consultative workshop to determine structure and working flow to handle programs of grant sponsored by the Global Fund to deal with HIV/AIDS and TB in Cambodia for 2018-2020. Based on newly set structure, the Ministry of Economy and Finance will be tasked as the Principal Recipient of the Grant while the Ministry of Health is implementer. Upon getting project grant, MEF and the Global Fund will further negotiate on adjusting management structure and mechanism to assure the sustainability of our healthcare programs.
Participated to the workshop there were Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen working group from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Principal Recipient), the Ministry of Health (Lead Implementer), the Global Fund senior officials from Geneva in charge of Cambodia portfolio and other relevant stakeholders. It is reminded that the Global Fund will provide financial assistance of 98 million USD to combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB in Cambodia from 2018 to 2020.
