
On the afternoon of May 5, 2017, at Himawari Hotel, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly, Chair of the National AIDS Authority (NAA), and Chair of the Country Coordinating Committee (CCC) chaired closing ceremony of consultative meeting between community representatives, civil society organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations on 2018-2020 HIV/AIDS program proposal of Cambodia to the Global Fund. Representatives of Communities living with or affected by HIV/AIDS from Provinces and constituencies across the country, representatives of civil society and Non-Governmental Organizations working in health and HIV/AIDS control participated in the meeting and discussed on top priorities and needs of people living with and affected it. H.E. Senior Minister in the name of the Royal Government of Cambodia, NAA and CCC expressed sincere thanks to stakeholders for participation and contribution in a number of meetings since initial consultations and now to complement and to support development of Cambodia HIV/AIDS program proposal which is responded to need, effective and efficient while the Global Fund could fund less than previous proposals. Therefore, the Royal Government of Cambodia made efforts to contribute by allocating national budget 3.7 millions USD for Antiretroviral Therapy drugs (ARV drugs) and some expenses of the Program in 2015-2017 and committed for fund of 4.5 millions USD for 2018-2020. Now it is considering additional request of 5.1 millions USD to add to the Global Fund assistance for HIV/AIDS control. H.E. Senior Minister got concerns of meeting on inadequate budget supports and effectiveness of HIV prevention and AIDS care activities and try to facilitate with relevant stakeholders to consider and to incorporate key activities and interventions into the HIV/AIDS proposal.
