H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly chaired inauguration ceremony of cooperation Project between Health Department of General Department of Finance and logistics, Ministry of National Defense and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and nominating goodwill Ambassadors of the National AIDS Authority for HIV/AIDS awareness
At Himawari hotel, on the morning of May 5, 2017, H.E. Ieng Mouly Senior Minister, Chair of the National AIDS Authority presided over:
• inaugurating ceremony of cooperation Project between Health Department of General Department of Finance and logistics, Ministry of National Defense and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and
• nominating Goodwill Ambassadors of the National AIDS Authority for HIV/AIDS awareness
H.E. Senior Minister highly appreciated senior management officials of the General Department of Finance and logistics as well as of Health Department, Ministry of National Defense that initiated cooperation project with AHF for HIV/AIDS Education campaign, safety and prevention among combatants and their family.
H.E. Senior Minister also greatly acknowledged famous performers who sacrify their valuable time, efforts and made commitment to volunteer and to contribtue in widely disseminating correct information of HIV/AIDS to cobattants and their family and general population as well and congratulated them for being appointed as Goodwill ambassadors of the Nationa AIDS Authority for this valuable humanitarian works.
His Excellency reiterated the importance of HIV prevention at everywhere and every time which is the key of HIV/AIDS control, reducing spread and going forward to completely cutting the transmission by 2025.
Eventough the World and Cambodia are providing Antiretroviral therapy (ART) to people living with HIV and most of them survive, cases of death related to HIV/AIDS still occurred.
Moreover, the treatment requires patients to take lifelong ARV drugs. It creates increasingly burden of expense on patients and their family, society and national budget while The Global Fund and international Donors are decreasing their financial assistance to purchase ARV drugs for Cambodian patients.
The best choice is to prevent from HIV infection as played role model by this cooperation HIV/AIDS project which is an important intervention initiated by NAA, Goodwill Ambassadors, AHF and Health Department, Ministry of National Defense. Finally, H.E. Senior Minister wishes project successfully implemented as planned.
