
On the morning of March 2, 2017, at Mondulkiri Hotel, Sen Monorom, Moldulkiri Province, H.E. Senior Minister Ieng Mouly Chair of the National AIDS Authority (NAA) presided over a consultative workshop reviewing NAA activities implemented and outcomes achieved in 2016 and preparing implementation arrangement for 2017. The workshop aims to review last year challenges, weakness progress and performance and planning for 2017 work operation. NAA is the national institution whose competence and responsibilities were entitled by the Royal Government and accountable to it in setting up mechanism for coordinating multi-sectors response and contribution to decrease new cases of HIV transmission, mortality and morbidity related to AIDS and discrimination against people living with HIV. NAA is assigned to take lead in mobilizing both financial and human resources to be used for multi-sectorial intervention packages for HIV transmission control and AIDS response. H.E. Senior Minister reminded NAA top leaders and officials to effectively perform duties and succeed further in fulfilling mandate and responsibilities of the institution by facilitating, supporting inter-ministry mechanism and consolidating multi-sectors efforts at both national and subnational levels to reduce new transmission, death rate, illness due to HIV and discrimination against people living with HIV in Cambodia.
